Hibiscus Iced Tea


Ingredients:

8 cups filtered water

6 hibiscus tea bags

3-4 fresh mint sprigs

2-3 lemons

2 large pieces fresh ginger root, peeled

ice cubes

8 cups filtered water to dilute

Instructions:

  • Bring 8 cups of filled water to boil and add 6 tea bags, the fresh mint, ginger root, the juice of 2 lemons, and the skin of one lemon

  • Turn off heat and brew for 6-8 minutes. Remove teabags.

  • Cool at room temperature about 1 hour then in refrigerator til very cold.

  • Strain to store the concentrated iced tea.

  • To serve add equal parts water to hibiscus concentrate, lots of ice, and lemon juice to desired taste.

  • Garnish with mint leaf and small lemon wedge.

Note: This is for party size yield of about 3-4 quarts. You can store the concentrated iced tea and dilute and garnish for individual servings.
